How We Got Our Name
The number "four" was worn by the famous professional baseball player Lou Gehrig, who was diagnosis with ALS in 1939. ALS is now often referred to as Lou Gehrig Disease. The second “U” in word Fourum stands for “you” and the “M” stand for “Mom”. The mother of Fourum’s founder, loss her life to the disease in July of 2024. All together, the word Fourum translate into "For You Mom".
Mission
Our mission is to provide children that have a parent with ALS, an opportunity to grow in every aspect of life possible, even with their families unfortunate circumstances. With the donations and awareness we provide, we expect to change lives in a positive way and propel those individuals into their futures. Making their parent with ALS proud of what they can accomplish.
Vision
Our vision is to bring awareness to as many families and individuals as possible. In addition, to make an impact in the futures of those family members that are sacrificing themselves for their loved one living with ALS. Fourum will be an organization that people want to follow and participate in, expanding our organization over time. Fourum will be a special organization in the local community. Whether you're an ALS patient, family member of an ALS patient or follower of Fourum, we want to see an impact on everyone involved.
